India and Pakistan are involved in a struggle for Kashmir.

The struggle for Kashmir is on 2 levels: -

    1. Keeping Kashmir with us physically: - We are very successful. Pakistan has tried again and again (1947, 1965, Kargil) to take Kashmir from us but they have failed.

    2. Keeping Kashmir with us physiologically: - The Kashmiris should feel that they are a part of India.

Cross Border terrorist attacks are successful only if they have local support. The terrorist need local help (food, shelter, logistics, intelligence, manpower and silence) to carry out any attack. Hence the terrorist organizations try to win over the local population. Till now they were unsuccessful. However things are changing slowly.

I am sad to say but we are losing the battle for the heart of the Kashmiris.

India must focus on rapid infrastructural development of Kashmir to make the locals get excellent facilities. Corruption in state government must be reduced. Efforts to improve tourism must be made to make sure the locals get jobs. The youth must be convinced that staying in India is in their and Kashmirs best interests. For this we need help of local Kashmiri politicians. Also such youth with different opinions must not punished but dealt kindly.

If we win the psychological battle then locals will help the army as informers and soldiers. If we loose the 'psychological' battle then consequence will be very serious.

Indranil gets married to Kashmira. Kashmira loves Indranil while Indranil is crazy about Kashmira.

However Indranil feels insecure because Kashmira is very beautiful and an evil person called Prakash is in love with her and is unsuccessfully trying (even though she is married) to woe her. Indranil can adopt 2 strategies.

Strategy 1: - He panicks. He starts spying and doubting Kashmira. When she tries to explain her point of view, he refuses to believe her and yells at her, sometimes even beating her black and blue. He even takes away her freedom and she can leave the house only if he is with her.

Strategy 2: - He trusts Kashmira. He showers her with love and attention. Also he pampers her with gifts, cloths etc.... He has faith in his love and he knows that evil Prakash will fail.

Since Kashmira is a fiercely independent women, it would be better if Indranil adopts Strategy 2.

Thus Indranil must have faith in Kashmira and pamper her or else evil Prakash might cause problems.
