The main difference between BSE and NSE is the trading volume of a particular stock. The trading volume in NSE is more as compared to BSE. You will get more liquidity in NSE. Normally the difference between the bid price and offer price of a share is higher in BSE as compared to NSE. But you will get more number companies listed in BSE than NSE. If you are buying shares for delivery purpose or medium to long term period, then you can buy in BSE. But if you are a intraday trader, then it is always advisable to do trading in NSE. Apart from these, NSE is also having F&O or futures and options for share trading where as BSE is not having any platform like F&O.

@Sonia it is true that NSE has more liquidity than BSE. but every time you buy/sell ,situation is different. Price may have huge gap between NSE and BSE. so compare everytime and so it cannot be judged on the previous experience you had.
