It is said that India is a very bad country for analyst to give a 'sell' call.

There is a rumor going on that if an analysts working with a reputed mutual fund or broking house gives a sell call then he is likely to receive a phone call wherein he will be given death threat.

Another rumor is that the companies run (separately) by 2 sons of a legendary businessman are considered to be the most dangerous in this regard and analyst giving a sell call are regularly threatened.

I have rarely seen Indian analyst give a sell call. Can threat to life or job be a reason for this? Are these rumors true? Are Indian promoters so intolerant? Also has any analyst lost his life mysteriously after giving harsh reviews?

The same analysts must be getting death threats if they don't give 'buy calls'. This must be the ugly thruth behind the rare sell calls we see from analysts.
