Cap goods companies have done extremely well in last few years with firing on all cylinders – robust order inflows, strong revenue growth and margin expansion. They have strong order books and now expanding capacities & foraying into new segments, which should help in next leg of growth. At the same time, valuations have become rich due to all rounder performance resulting in significant jump in stock prices.

Mutual Funds I am investing (14-05-2024)
Hi @someshbiradar ,
I have been investing in the markets for about 4 years now. Just 2 cents,
- I like Parag Parikh fund, it’s just that the AUM has become too big for fund to take any major positions in the company. It remains to be seen whether it continues to outperform or become a normal large cap mutual fund.
- I don’t know much about Quant mutual fund. Tried studying their strategy, portfolios but could never get the confidence to invest my money in this. It is more like trading than investing.
- & 4. I don’t understand why people are getting attracted to microcap Index. Index funds only make sense if we want to invest in Large caps as nifty 50 is made with already top 50 companies so it doesn’t make any sense to buy large cap mutual funds and instead people buy nifty 50 Index funds. But for small, mid and Microcaps, the quality of the company matters a lot. A company can enter into the index irrespective of the fact that it has good accounting standards or not, clean management or not, future plans or not, growing or not; just on the basis of its size. So it is only beneficial if we invest in actively managed direct mutual funds for small and micro cap categories as the choice is the company(stock picking) becomes crucial in this.
Just my opinion. Open to any constructive criticism
HDFC Bank- we understand your world (14-05-2024)
Totally Agreed. I think pointing the merger as “the biggest mistake” to the biggest banking group of India is a little early. They have taken this decision with a vision. The base size is definitely bigger and Cost of funds might be higher for now but I guess when things are temporarily hurt, that’s the best time to acquire or buy them (in stock markets, businesses). I don’t expect it to give as high returns like a small-cap but for investors looking for valuation comfort in safe stocks in this continuously rising market, it is definitely one of the best candidate for now(or any other of the top 4 private sector banks for that matter).
Disc.- Invested. Rotated most of my profits to all top 4 private banks.

Arbitrage opportunity between partly paid and fully paid up shares?
Aurum PP shares are trading at 118.85 and fully paid up shares are trading at 152.55 (14th May 2024 at 3.17 pm)
If we buy partly paid up shares, we need to pay Rs. 30 when it is called at a later date. This effectively gives a benefit of 3+ rupees per share plus interest.
Disclosure: Recently sold off fully paid up shares and Invested in PP shares of Aurum.
