Every stock/business has a golden period in its journey. Caplin is having that time now. They are of that decent size (not small and not large) and they can take large bets (focused on high value molecules) and can withstand the test of time. Generics business requires all that.

Could be a couple of things of the below:
- Last two quarters the OPM has halved.
- Compared to peers it’s Gross Profit Margin is not so great.
- Lastly – this could be a red-herring for Q4 results not in line with expectations.
Also looks like hence forth companies with good fundamentals will do well, rest will be brought down to their previous levels before the mad rush started in mid-cap, small-cap…
Discl – not invested.

Hi, A few queries:
- EBITDA margins have been going down, a year, year and half back, it was projected as a 35%-40% margin business, however, it has continuously declined and is currently at 25% (Dec 2023).
- Management has been giving the same reason of increase in employee cost due to incremental hiring in the international market, however, it is not reflected in the sales
- There were some RPT issues
- Nippon MF, CIF III Scheme I and some FPIs have subscribed to the QIP. What is the purpose of the new fund raise, is ant acquisition planned.
Thanks.

Hi ,
I am following this company for last 12-15 month and recently started buliding my position. (approx 3000 Share @130 avg price).
My Rationale is : they were in to real estate Leasing business and after acquistion of Majesco (only Office asset left as Majesco sold their IT (insurance Product) business to american company.) they are moving in to IT SaaS/Platform in to Real esate (where they have core domain expertise) and acquring Real estate related IT Platforms.
I think they are doing right move i.e from Domain to moving in it IT and making Industry specific end to end solution. I think their strategy of merging acquired business is also good i.e at macro level they are integrating solution but still giving operational freedom to acquired IT business( This is very imp, in IT business as Human are their key assets and in M&A culture fitment is key for success of m&A).
Also for last 2 qtr they started focusing on Bottom line(Profitable growth) unlike many IT SaaS platform business which just focus on Top line and markt share incresed.
Over All: I think they are having focused stategy and also close eye on execution. I believe if they continue ame focus it will be good business in years to come.
Note: I have recently started building position so my views can be bised.
I am IT Professional and have closely seen how IT Applcaiton/Product business ( which very few companies in India focus) grows.

Its probably difficult for individual investor to check both fundamental and technical analysis all time and divert the money based on the direction. Also we always don’t get correct interpretation from chart, so that mistake also can be costly. At the end of the day, it really depends on the individual to decide what they want.

#BitcoinHalving and rise of Bitcoin to its ATH
Source: Business Week 17th March, 2024 Edition
The Bitcoin halving is another event that is generating a lot of excitement. It takes place every four years when the reward for Bitcoin mining is reduced by half. The purpose is to limit supply, so when the reward decreases, it positively impacts prices. There will only be 21 million Bitcoins, and nearly 19 million have already been mined.
Historically, halvings have driven Bitcoin prices to new highs.
The first halving took place in November 2012, and in just over a year, the value of Bitcoin surged from $13 to $1,152 by December 2013.
The second halving occurred in July 2016, leading again to a significant increase in Bitcoin price—from $664 to $17,760 by December 2017.
The third halving took place in May 2020, and the price of Bitcoin rose from $9,734 to $68,789 by November 2021, reaching its peak one year and six months after the halving, explains Ryan Lee, Chief Analyst at Bitget Research, which looks at cryptocurrencies.
“The fourth halving will occur in April 2024. It is expected that the price of Bitcoin will rise and peak one year and five months after the halving. A similar trend has been observed with the previous three halvings, with prices increasing over time to hit a new all-time high,” says Lee.
“There are approximately 60 days until the Bitcoin halving in April 2024, which could potentially push the cryptocurrency market to new highs,” says Shivram Thakral, CEO of digital asset exchange BuyUcoin.
