The markets have gone mental, High PE and low growth stocks are making new highs every day with anticipation of growth and news while good companies with sound financials and decent valuations are dead.

DCX Systems Ltd (21-12-2023)
40% of DCX Systems revenue comes from Israel. With the ongoing war, there could be delay in receivables from Israel side, and affect the upcoming quarterly earnings. Any inputs on that?
Cigniti Technologies – Global Leader in Software Testing (21-12-2023)
Red flags like promoter reducing stake + MD resigning are there.
Still tracking because, it is trying to move up the value chain and offering customised services, pivot from a generic testing company. (Like a CRAMS player expanding/specialising their portfolio, spending more on R&D)
Will look for margin expansion to happen.
If any other views pls share.

Gravita India success story (21-12-2023)
They are just putting up a pilot plant to test feasibility of Li-Ion recycling. Based on the success of this pilot, they may go for a larger commercial plant. I think this is a good move, albeit cautiously, to be future ready.

Steel pipes industry – big growth expected? (21-12-2023)
It’s been almost five years since I made this post. Here’s an update of the market cap of the pipe companies since then.

Rs.5000 invested in each of these stocks would be an investment of Rs.1,00,000. This would be worth at least Rs.7,50,000. I’ve ignored the merged and de-listed stocks for calculation although the merged stocks would have value. This is an over 40% annualized return pre-tax. The S&P BSE 250 SmallCap Index was 2038.98 on February 22, 2019. It is 5,498.97 today and Rs.100,000 invested in it would have been worth close to Rs.270,000 today. It seems that if one expects an industry to do well, it’s good to buy a basket of stocks from the industry and hold for long term.
TARSONS products ltd (21-12-2023)
Interesting development here.
Tarsons has acquired 100% stake in Nerbe R&D GmbH and Nerbe plus GmbH & Co (German Company in similar line of business, i.e., distribution of plastic labware) for a consideration of ~15 million Euros, roughly 136 Crores INR. (Assuming higher end of band mentioned in disclosure, ie. 10-15 Euros).
This acquisition is done via Tarson’s subsidiary, Tarsons Life Science Pte Ltd. and Nerbe will be a 100% step-down subsidiary of Tarsons after the closure of deal.
Interestingly Nerbe GmbH is a profitable company with 4.9 Million Euros EBITDA and 16 Million Euros of topline in FY 22, earlier years were better in terms of profitability. (Seems a distress acquisition)
Disclosure: Holding.
