@maheshkumar I said ‘may’. it depends on time frame of restriction lifting. If it is 1 month like you mentioned, they may not gave liquidity issues. If it is prolonged one, then this will create such issues. In iifl case, due to this ban, even their housing finance entity faced difficulty in getting fresh loans from banks for certain time period.

Mazagon Dock: aptly called “Ship Builder to the Nation” (18-10-2024)
I had also entered from similar levels and I am still holding.
I agree , the kind of growth it has given , we may not see these kind of growth in future.
But I still find safety in these stocks as long as it continues to have 5-6 years order book at any point of time , given the geo political situations and the fact that we are sandwiched between two nations where our relations remain tense and defence budget would remain robust – no opposition can complain- Defence of our nation is the top most priority.
There are several Navy projects under considerations to counter China which has 3 times more Naval powers in Indian Ocean. These projects would convert in to order book. so , these stocks have earning visibility for the long term …though in short term market volatility could continue due to sector rotation and other economic and geo political situations…
These stocks may not give QoQ performance and performance QoQ/ YOY could be lumpy.
However , portfolio resizing in such kind of run up is a standard recommended practice.
Discl : Not a buy sell recommendation. i may be wrong in my assessment. please do your own assessment before buy sell.

For IIFL, a special audit was required before the restrictions could be lifted, involving a detailed review of processes. In contrast, for Ashirvad Microfinance, the RBI has requested the submission of proof of compliance, not a full audit. Ashirvad needs to review its processes, make necessary adjustments, and provide documentation like policy changes and revised procedures. I feel This approach is less complex, so the ban is likely to be lifted more quickly than in IIFL’s case.
I expect less than 1 month

Hello all. I do get confused how to invest in China market. Is hang sang same as China companies index? And is this govt limit for investing overseas is the reason there’s no MF available to invest in china?
Either case what’s the most cost effective way except buying direct stocks.
Using Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning to improve Decision Making Skills and enhance Predictive Analysis (17-10-2024)
Interesting thread, complete novice here about investing but have been building AI for fintechs for last 14 years now, so happy to answer any questions about the subject.
Autoregressive models fail horribly to predict stocks due to the inherent nature of the domain, but information retrieval and profiling is still a big area where AI/ML is actively used in credit scoring or stock analysis. With GenAI it’s actually easier now to condense information faster specially data related to sentiments and key developments.
Looking forward to brainstorming ideas of where AI could augment investing.
Cheers.

Why do you believe there will be liquidity issues since the loan recovery is feasible? Unlike the COVID situation, where job losses made loan repayment difficult, in this case, the RBI has imposed sanctions and requested a revision of their interest rate policy. While this may take some time, they should still recover over 95% of their money as usual.
