ADF FOOD LTD – FMCG Company for Next Decade (31-10-2023)
I think the reasoning for still continuing with the distribution business despite the lean margins is to build network of distributors and retailers and gain shelf space using established brands for future sale of their own products.
You’re right about the margins, they are likely to remain low (maybe 8-12%) even after the investment phase matures.
eMudhra – building seamless digital and paperless experiences (31-10-2023)
Okay. Unfortunately the link isn’t working Akshay and my independent research on MCA couldn’t locate this firm either. But I guess that doesn’t matter as your inference is clear.
I have met the promoters personally and they seem very decent guys. While theoretically still possible I would say its unlikely.
Also note, it is a 280 Cr business of which about 80 crores come from DSC. This too they are on a trajectory of reducing the channel partner contribution. So I wouldn’t worry about this too much.

KPIT – CASE (connected, autonomous, shared, electric) – Focused Automotive Play (31-10-2023)
While there is no denying the fact that KPIT has been a star in the entire ER&D category since last many quarters, we should not forget the fact that its due to their business model only concentrated on the automotive sector which is having huge tailwinds and expected to continue for some more time. Rest of the players like LTTS, Tata Elxsi are diversified and not focused on only one segment. Automotive segment of all ER&D players is growing at a healthy pace QoQ but their other segments impact the overall growth which is not the case with KPIT.
