The Reserve Bank of India's interest rate decision, macroeconomic data and global trends will drive investors' sentiment this week, with markets hoping to continue the positive momentum after ending FY24 on a buoyant note, analysts said.
In addition, the trading activity of foreign investors, the rupee-dollar trend and the movement of global oil benchmark Brent crude would also influence trading in equity markets.
The 30-share BSE Sensex climbed 14,659.83 points or 24.85 per cent in the 2023-24. The benchmark hit its all-time high of 74,245.17 on March 7.
In 2023-24, the Nifty soared 4,967.15 points or 28.61 per cent.

Fundraising via QIP hits Rs 78,000 cr in FY24 on strong market sentiment (31-03-2024)
Fuelled by improved market sentiments and robust underlying demand, fundraising by issuing shares/units to institutional investors soared to Rs 78,000 crore in 2023-24, a more than seven-fold surge year-on-year.
The 2024-25 fiscal is expected to be very robust as companies will continue to garner capital for capex post-election results.
"In an unprecedented era of economic development aided by pro-business reforms and macroeconomic stability, India is set to become the third largest economy globally by 2027 and will continue to see strong flows.

Mcap of 7 most valued firms climbs Rs 67,259.99 cr; Reliance top gainer (31-03-2024)
The combined market valuation of seven of the 10 most valued firms climbed Rs 67,259.99 crore in a holiday-shortened last week, with Reliance Industries emerging as the biggest gainer, amid an overall optimistic trend in equities.
Last week, the BSE benchmark climbed 819.41 points or 1.12 per cent.
Markets saw just three trading sessions last week, as they were closed on Monday for Holi and Good Friday on March 29.
The valuation of Reliance Industries jumped Rs 45,262.59 crore to reach Rs 20,14,010.63 crore.
State Bank of India added Rs 5,533.26 crore, taking its market valuation to Rs 6,71,666.29 crore.
The valuation of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) climbed Rs 5,218.12 crore to Rs 5,78,484.29 crore, and that of ICICI Bank advanced Rs 4,132.67 crore to Rs 7,69,542.65 crore.

Lot of ‘onion peeling’ for attaining global first: SEBI chief Puri on T+0 (30-03-2024)
Attaining the global first involved a lot of problem-solving and personal discomforts, SEBI chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch said on Saturday giving the analogy of "onion peeling" for the achievement.
Speaking at the annual convocation of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA), Buch said the current generation of Indians is on its way to seeing the "high noon" of the new India.
"My colleagues often tell me that problem-solving with me is like peeling an onion. It makes everybody cry in the process. But by the time you are done, peeling layer after layer after layer of the onion, you suddenly realise there is no problem left," Buch said while addressing students of IIMA as the chief guest of the 59th annual convocation.
