These vessels will have catamaran hull design and be built with aluminum and Fiber Reinforced Polymer or FRP. The hybrid electric propulsion systems will be powered by batteries as well as diesel generators. The hybrid system will offer greater flexibility to the operator to switch from one mode to the other as per requirement, allowing for greater safety. The use of batteries will reduce pollution substantially.

NTPC Green Energy IPO subscribed 33% on Day 1; retail portion fully booked (19-11-2024)
The initial public offer of NTPC Green Energy Ltd, the renewable energy arm of NTPC, got subscribed 33 per cent on the first day of share sale on Tuesday.
The share sale received bids for 19,46,53,968 shares against 59,31,67,575 shares on offer, according to data available with the NSE.
The portion for Retail Individual Investors (RIIs) fetched 1.33 times subscription while the category for non-institutional investors got subscribed 15 per cent.
NTPC Green Energy has mobilised Rs 3,960 crore from anchor investors.
The Rs 10,000-crore initial share sale is entirely a fresh issuance of equity shares with no offer-for-sale (OFS) component. The issue, with a price band of Rs 102-108 per share, will be available for public subscription from November 19 to 22.
Proceeds from the IPO to the tune of Rs 7,500 crore will be used to repay or prepay part or all of its subsidiary NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd’s (NREL) outstanding loans and a portion will be utilised for general corporate purposes.

Gold prices jumped Rs 600 to Rs 78,050 per 10 grams in the national capital on Tuesday amid a strong global trend in the overseas market, according to the All India Sarafa Association.
On Monday, the precious metal of 99.9 per cent purity closed at Rs 77,450 per 10 grams.
Gold prices also rose due to increased buying by local jewellers and retailers for the wedding festivities, traders said.
Silver bounced Rs 1,500 to Rs 93,500 per kg against the previous close of Rs 92,000 per kg on Monday.
Gold price of 99.5 per cent purity rose Rs 600 to Rs 77,650 per 10 grams. It had ended at Rs 77,050 per 10 grams in the previous session.
Meanwhile, in futures trade on the MCX, gold contracts for December delivery jumped Rs 615 or 0.82 per cent to trade at Rs 75,662 per 10 grams.
“MCX gold prices experienced a rebound in the last session after several days of underperformance, largely due to a pullback in the dollar index,” Deveya Gaglani, Senior Research Analyst at Axis Securities, said.

The Indian rupee settled 1 paisa lower at 84.43 (provisional) against the US dollar on Tuesday, as support from positive domestic equity markets and lower crude oil prices was negated by strength of the American currency in the overseas market. Indian stocks closed on a positive note on Tuesday despite giving up a substantial portion of intraday gains. Stocks moved higher thanks to positive global cues, and on bargain hunting after recent losses. The BSE benchmark Sensex, which surged to 78,451.65 around noon, gaining more than 1,100 points in the process, eventually ended the day’s session with a gain of 239.37 points or 0.31% at 77,578.38, snapping a four-day losing streak. The National Stock Exchange’s Nifty50 settled with a gain of 64.70 points or 0.28% at 23,518.50, way down from the day’s high of 23,780.65.
