You can read the article on my blog on this. There is no concept of Demat account for US equities. All securities are held with brokers which are only insured upto 250K USD per account.
Doesnt matter whether you chose a Groww or Interactive Brokers or Kotak or ICICI. They just act as facilitators for orders. Your stocks arent held by Groww or any of these facilitators but by their brokerage partners in US.
