Sensex tumbles over 500 points as global headwinds weigh, Nifty drops below 16,900

At 9.30 am, the BSE Sensex was trading over 500 points or 1 per cent lower at 56,558.81. Nifty50 was trading at 16,844.80, down 160 points or 0.96 per cent.
