I’m a mechanical engineer. Let me tell you this. Waste heat recovery looks rosey on theory but very difficult and expensive in practice. This itself negates the benefit of waste heat recovery. Tell me something do u want to recover the heat that your air conditioner ,which also has a heat exchanger at the outdoor unit, takes out of your home and dumps at outside atmosphere? The car radiator which is also a heat exchanger takes heat out of the engine and rejects it at the atmosphere, do u want to recover that heat and convert it into electricity by putting some more heavy equipment. sounds impractical right?
