Having the youngest fleet will not make it a monopoly. There are many dynamics at play. Companies can look to charter markets and buy 2nd hand ships. Small older ships can be replaced by bigger ship’s which are more cost efficient. I am a seafarer working for Maersk thus I can assure you that having a younger fleet barely have any effect on attaining a monopoly.
