I did IEPF for my parents and in-laws and despite 8 month since submission to company, yet to see credit into account. Following experiences
- IEPF authority is just not accountable. Despite many RTI/CP GRAMS, the helpline remains un-responsive, no TAT to close cases and issues.
- Agents routinely charge higher of Rs 20k/25k or 10% of security value for stuff. Now I understand why.
- need to be careful about original share certificates, affidavits, stamping etc. Not trivial and companies often do not help(notable exception Reliance) or if they do, very slow responses.
So advice to all, when parents/claimants are alive, do it ASAP. Else when you land into probate etc, even more difficult.
