Govt may remove income tax benefit given to debt mutual fund investors: Report
As of now, investors in debt mutual funds pay income tax on capital gains for a holding period of three years according to their tax slab. Those with investments of more than 3 years are taxed at the rate of 20% with indexation benefits or 10% without indexation.
