Asian stocks follow Wall St higher as US inflation cools
Asian stock markets rose on Friday tracking Wall Street, as US inflation data appeared to ease in March and China reported strong exports. This comes amid hopes that the Federal Reserve and other central banks might postpone or scale back plans for interest rate hikes. The Hang Seng in Hong Kong remained steady and New Zealand declined, while Singapore and Jakarta gained. Indian markets were closed for a holiday. US benchmark crude oil futures rose and the dollar fell to 132.50 yen from 132.77 yen.
