U.S. money market funds draw inflows for fifth straight week
U.S. money market funds have been successful in attracting investment with a net inflow of $20.51bn in the week to April 12, marking the fifth consecutive week of inflows. Investors moving their money out of bank deposits and putting it in money market funds amid short-term interest rate rally, encouraged by a still-strong labour market and the prospect of the Federal Reserve’s rate hike in May. Equity funds' outflows dropped to a three-week low of $1.09bn, according to Refinitiv Lipper data.
