Boeing shares tumble as parts issue halts deliveries of some 737 MAXs
Boeing's shares fell 4.5% in premarket trade on Friday as the company halted deliveries of some 737 MAXs due to a new supplier quality problem at Spirit AeroSystems. The manufacturer warned that the issue could affect a significant number of undelivered 737 MAX aeroplanes both in production and in storage, and could result in lowered deliveries in the near term, and will likely affect Spirit's financial exposure more than it will Boeing's. The problem is not a safety of flight issue, and in-service planes can continue to operate, Boeing said.
