Japan’s Nikkei share average rebounded from losses seen on Wednesday, spurred by the surge in retailers on the back of an increase in foreign visitors, and a rise in semiconductor shares despite early declines. The index added 0.18% to 28,657.57, closing near the day’s high. The broader Topix finished the day slightly lower at 2,039.73. The best performers were banking and insurance sectors, and paper & pulp, while mining incurred the biggest losses. The Nikkei had 128 stocks in the green, 88 in the red and nine remaining flat.
