Congress raises questions over CM Vijayan’s ‘secret’ farewell party to retiring Kerala HC chief justice S Manikumar

The Leader of Opposition in Thiruvananthapuram expressed concern over a “secret” farewell party organised by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Cabinet Ministers for retiring Chief Justice S. Manikumar. The event, held at a plush hotel, was reportedly unheard of in the state. The Leader said Vijayan’s respect for the judiciary was apparent, but he should explain why such a send-off was necessary. The Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court is due to retire on April 23.
