AAP sniffs opportunity in Jallandhar by-election with arrest of radical preacher Amritpal Singh
The ruling party, which has been questioned over the increase in pro-Khalistan activity in Punjab, now has Singh’s arrest to redeem its report card. Jallandhar byelection is crucial for AAP, which had lost the first parliamentary by-election in chief minister Bhagwant Mann’s home turf Sangrur right after sweeping to power in Punjab Assembly elections last year.
