Gujarat High Court to hear Rahul Gandhi’s plea in defamation case
The Gujarat High Court will hear Rahul Gandhi’s appeal over his “Modi surname” comment on April 29. Gandhi faces a criminal defamation case, filed by Gujarat BJP MLA Purnesh Modi, who accused him of using derogatory language against the prime minister that had hurt his reputation. In March, a metropolitan magistrate’s court awarded two years’ jail to Gandhi.
