Investors should be cautious, protect capital and build sustainable portfolios for the next 18 months, said Sridhar Sivaram, investment director at Enam Holdings. India’s banking system is stronger than the US and although the central bank may need to raise rates, India will not face a banking crisis, Sivaram added. “For the next six to eight months, the data will be very choppy”, and all shocks and surprises need to be monitored carefully, he said.
