Congress observers have returned to New Delhi after speaking to newly-elected Karnataka MLAs individually amid intense lobbying for the state’s chief minister post. Former chief minister Siddaramaiah and PCC president D K Shivakumar are both lobbying hard for the top post. The observers will present a report to party president Mallikarjun Kharge on the views of the majority of the MLAs later in the day. The Congress won 135 seats in the 224-member assembly.
