Congress leader D K Sivakumar, a contender for the post of Karnataka’s next Chief Minister, and Director General of Police (DGP) of Karnataka, Praveen Sood, have been at odds since March, when Sivakumar accused the police chief of favouring the BJP in the state. The Congress member called the DGP ‘nalayak’ and vowed to take action against him if his party came to power in the latest incident. Sood was recently appointed as the director of the CBI in a meeting held by the Prime Minister, Chief Justice of India, and Leader of Opposition.
