Tokyo shares close up with Nikkei at 20-month high
The Japanese stock market rose on Wednesday, with the benchmark Nikkei 225 index gaining 0.84 percent, or 250.60 points, to end at 30,093.59. The broader Topix index added 0.30 percent, or 6.43 points, to 2,133.61. The dollar stood at 136.85 yen, against 136.37 yen in New York, and up from around 134 a week ago.
