Kiren Rijiju’s stint in Law Ministry witnessed frequent run-ins with judiciary

Kiren Rijiju, a three-term LS member from Arunachal, was removed from his post as Law Minister in the BJP government on July 26, 2021, amid criticism of his remarks on the judiciary and the system of judicial appointments. Rijiju had courted controversy recently by terming the system of appointments as an “uncle-judge syndrome” and expressed strong displeasure over the SC collegium making public IB and RAW reports in connection with judicial appointments.
