The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has welcomed the Center’s ordinance on transfer and disciplinary proceedings of bureaucrats in Delhi, stating it was necessary to maintain Delhi’s dignity and protect people’s interests. The ordinance creates a National Capital Civil Service Authority for transfer and disciplinary proceedings against Group-A officers from the DANICS cadre. The BJP claimed that the Kejriwal government was intimidating officers and abusing its powers after the Supreme Court verdict on services matters. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) called the ordinance unconstitutional and accused it of being an attempt to snatch the power given to Delhi’s government by the Supreme Court in services matters.
