Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) have invested Rs 30,945 crore in the Indian equities in May, taking net inflows to Rs 16,365 crore this year, according to data from depositories. Experts believe the investment trend will continue, given India’s bright prospects for economic growth and corporate earnings. The pause in Reserve Bank of India’s rate hike was the main trigger for inflows, according to Divam Sharma, founder at Green Portfolio PMS. FPIs have also been buyers in sectors such as autos, capital goods, FMCG, healthcare, telecom, real estate and oil & gas.
