The rupee opened at 82.82 against the US dollar, gained 3 paise and traded at 82.81. Foreign fund inflows and positive domestic equities supported the currency. However, the greenback’s overall strength is limiting appreciation. According to IFA Global Research Academy, the rupee may trade in the 82.65-82.95 range with sideways price action. Meanwhile, Brent crude futures increased by 0.36% to USD 76.26 per barrel, and the Sensex gained 0.35%. Foreign institutional investors purchased shares worth Rs 922.89 crore in the capital market.
