Delhi HC dismisses Gandhis’ pleas against tax department’s assessment transfer order

The Delhi High Court has dismissed petitions filed by Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra against the Income Tax department’s decision to transfer their cases to the Central Circle in a matter related to arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari. The court also rejected separate petitions by several trusts and the Aam Aadmi Party. The Gandhis challenged the order to transfer their assessment and argued that they have no link to the cases against Bhandari; however, the court said that assessments have been transferred for a coordinated investigation.
