Sharad Pawar, the chief of the Nationalist Congress Party, expressed his displeasure about the newly opened Parliament building. He criticised the inauguration ceremony which involved havan, multi-faith prayers and ‘Sengol’ and was worried about whether the country was being taken backward. He also said that the event seemed like it was for a limited number of people and criticised the fact that Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar was not invited. Nationalist Congress Party leader Supriya Sule also called the inauguration an “incomplete event” because the opposition was not involved.
