“Anti-collision device would have averted Odisha train tragedy”: West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee confronts railway minister
West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee stated that the crash could have been avoided with the installation of the anti-collision system in trains. Banerjee called it the “biggest railway accident of the 21st century”. The accident involved two passenger trains and a goods train on three separate tracks at Bahanaga Bazar Station, causing 261 fatalities and injuring over 1000.
