The Congress party in Madhya Pradesh is countering its portrayal as ant-Hindu ahead of assembly elections later this year, intending to take on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with “soft-Hindutva”. The party has activated a committee “Dharmik and Utsav Prakosth” with religious programmes led by kamathachak Richa Goswami. The idea is to dent BJP’s Brahmin voters and counter the BJP’s “hard-Hindutva”.
