The Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) party of the former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has withdrawn its support for the ruling Nitish Kumar government. Santosh Suman, Manjhi’s son and the party’s national president, said it was willing to consider joining the NDA alliance led by the BJP if invited. With four MLAs, the HAM had joined Bihar’s ruling Mahagathbandhan coalition last year. The withdrawal of Manjhi’s support has thrown Nitish Kumar into political turmoil.
