Punjab Assembly passes bill to ensure free telecast of Gurbani from Golden Temple
Sikh Gurdwaras (Amendment) Bill, 2023 to ensure free telecast of Gurbani from Golden Temple was passed in Punjab Assembly on Tuesday. As of now, Gurbani is broadcast from the holy place by PTC. However, a rift between the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and the Punjab government surfaced where the former said that the 1925 Act is a central legislation and can only be amended by Parliament.
