Karnataka’s Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah, has invited tenders for rice under the state’s Anna Bhagya scheme, following the Centre’s failure to provide rice for the programme. The scheme is being introduced to support families below the poverty line. The government has already contacted agencies from Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh states to supply rice, without success. Siddaramaiah criticised the Centre for failing to provide rice to the scheme.
