Savarkar made ‘important contribution’ in history of India: UP Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak

The biography of Hindutva ideologue V.D. Savarkar has been included in Uttar Pradesh’s school curriculum, along with biographies of other leaders such as Jawaharlal Nehru and Chhatrapati Shivaji, in the moral education syllabus for grades 9 to 12. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak supported the move, stating that Savarkar had made an “important contribution” in India’s history and that previous governments had erased the contribution of people like him.
