Having led a landslide victory in the May 10 polls in Karnataka and cemented his position as a champion of backward classes and minorities, the newly minted CM may have a clear task cut out in parts of southern Maharashtra where assembly polls are due next year, as well as the Lok Sabha polls. These regions have a seizable chunk of backward communities, including Dhangars who are in large numbers in Baramati, Satara, and Solapur.
