Mere opposition to Sharia cannot be basis for Uniform Civil Code, says Shiv Sena (UBT)
Shiv Sena (UBT), led by Uddhav Thackeray, has stated that opposition to Sharia law alone cannot be the basis for the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). The party argues that UCC should also promote equality in law and justice for all. The party has called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to respect uniform law by disqualifying corrupt politicians and businessmen from the ruling party.
