The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has stated that the oath taken by nine NCP MLAs as ministers in the Maharashtra government does not have the official support of the party. The NCP spokesperson, Mahesh Tapase, mentioned that the oath-taking ceremony was not supported by the NCP and was seen as a personal decision of those who took the oath. This development comes a year after a revolt by Eknath Shinde led to the collapse of the previous government.
