Senior Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan has alleged that the BJP has promised Ajit Pawar the post of Maharashtra chief minister. Chavan claimed that Ajit Pawar’s move to join the ruling Eknath Shinde-BJP coalition was aimed at securing the chief minister’s position. Chavan also stated that if the opposition alliance had stayed united, the BJP-Eknath Shinde alliance would not have had a chance in the upcoming elections. He further mentioned that the opposition alliance would move the Supreme Court if the state Assembly Speaker fails to make a decision on the disqualification of 16 Shiv Sena MLAs.
