Indian equity indices closed at a fresh all-time high for the fourth consecutive session on Tuesday, led by gains from financial and IT stocks. The 30-share S&P BSE Sensex ended 0.42% higher at 65,479, while the broader NSE Nifty settled up 0.34%. Sector-wise, Nifty PSU Bank jumped 1.89%, and Nifty IT advanced 1.04%. Meanwhile, the market capitalisation of all listed firms on BSE rose to Rs 2.99tn ($40bn). Global shares held steady while oil prices ticked higher as markets factored in supply cuts by top exporters Saudi Arabia and Russia for August.
