Karnataka Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah, criticized the Central government for failing to control steep price rises, while lambasting the previous BJP government for deteriorating the state’s economy. He stated that only 3.65% of the divisible pool is devolved to the state, and that Karnataka has incurred a shortfall in tax devolution to the tune of INR 37 trillion in the past three years. The Chief Minister also blamed the Centre for not releasing INR 6 trillion towards improving water bodies and a peripheral ring road to decongest Bengaluru traffic.
