Congress says ‘unreasonable restrictions’ placed on sale of rice under OMSS ‘misfired’ badly

Congress claims that the Centre discontinuing food grains from its pool to states was a political decision aimed at scuttling the Karnataka government’s Anna Bhagya scheme and has alleged that the restrictions placed on the Open Market Sale Scheme has misfired. Jairam Ramesh stated that the Modi government ended up becoming too clever by half and that the unreasonable restrictions placed on the sale of rice under the OMSS has severely restricted the offtake of rice.
