Maybe govt will coin ‘minimum funds, maximum research’ slogan: P Chidambaram’s dig over institutes ‘not getting funds’
Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram criticized the Indian government on Thursday for not providing funds to top research institutions in the country since April. Citing media reports, he stated that scientists at these institutions weren't receiving central agency funds that they were supposed to receive this financial year. As a result, purchasing is on hold, and project staff haven't been paid for three months. Chidambaram quoted senior scientist S C Lakhotia, who stated his own pocket was paying the project staff.
