Former Union environment minister Jairam Ramesh has criticized the National Tiger Conservation Authority’s statement, which claimed the cheetahs’ deaths at the Kuno National Park were due to natural causes, as a political move to cover up management failures. Of the 20 cheetahs translocated to Kuno from South Africa and Namibia, five adult animals have so far died, sparking investigations into the relocation process.
