Opposition leaders meet at Mallikarjun Kharge’s chamber in Parliament to chalk out strategy for Monsoon Session

Leaders of several opposition parties met ahead of the Monsoon Session and agreed to raise the issue of Manipur violence and call for discussion on the situation in the northeastern state. This was the first meeting of the opposition parties since the formation of their alliance ‘INDIA’. A number of leaders of the Congress and other opposition parties have given adjournment notices in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, while Kharge has given an adjournment notice on the matter, questioning why Prime Minister Modi has not visited or spoken on the situation in the region.
