PM Modi should make elaborate statement on Manipur in Parliament: Mallikarjun Kharge

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has demanded a statement from Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the recent spate of violence in Manipur. The Congress has called for a discussion on the matter in both houses of parliament following the publication of a video on social media that shows two women being paraded naked through a Manipur village before being attacked by a mob. Modi has already condemned the incident, saying it “shamed 140 crore Indians”, while Kharge accused the prime minister of making “false equivalence” with Congress-governed states to deflect criticism.
